Visualizing and Refining Terrain Survey

Location: North side of walking bridge at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Eau Claire Wisconsin
Collection: Designing features within the sand of a 120cm by 120cm box. We then collected coordinates in grid form in three demensions x,y,z. After collection we refined our survey and stratisfied the grid to better collect the features
Date: original collection was completed September 15,2015. Revised collection was completed September 22,2015
Collection method: by using meter sticks and string we set up a uniform grid across the entire box in increments of 8 cm. With the stratisfication we used a flat meter stick and at all areas of interest collected additional point inbetween the 8cm, in 2cm increments. All records where recorded onto a sheet of paper and transfered into a microsoft excell spreadsheet and then displayed onto ArcMap 10.3Distance/ Azimuth Survey Methods

Location: University of Eau Claire lower quad campus area
Collection: Collected one hundred points from the quad to represent data points in a collection. The were an assortment of block benches, lightpoles, and trees.
Date: September 30, 2015
Collection methods: The points where collected using a Suunto compass, and a Sonin Distance Measurement.
Navigation of priory

Location: University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Priory. located due south of the University off of priory road.
Collection: Navigated through priory woods to locate five different points marked with pink ribbon on trees using a paper map and compass.
Date: October 26, 2015
Collection method: Used our own made maps of priory and distance azimuth to pace count our steps from starting point to each tree location.
